Forecasting Biological and Economic Impacts of Aquatic Invasive Species in Lake Michigan.
The overall goal of the project is to enhance and improve bioeconomic modeling frameworks to inform fisheries management and policy response to invasive species. Lupi will collaborate with fellow principal investigators at University of Wyoming and NOAA to achieve the project goals. Lupi will directly oversee the graduate research assistant at Michigan State University (MSU). Lupi will be the lead on the recreation demand modelling tasks for the project. Lupi and the MSU graduate student will work with PI Finnoff at University of Wyoming to develop and implement an aggregation methodology to consistently couple existing recreational demand modeling with the broader scale, non-spatially explicit model of the regional economy (CGE model). Lupi will assist with the coupling of ecological and economic models and the application of models to management and policy scenarios. Lupi will collaborate on project publications and presentations with the broader team and with the MSU graduate student.
