SPORTS & COMMERCIAL TURF MANAGEMENT

The turfgrass industry has a multitude of interesting and exciting career opportunities. This young program is offered to people interested in specializing in a career in the sports or commercial turf management area. This area of turfgrass emphasis is growing rapidly and offers rewarding job opportunities.

This integrated program emphasizes the science and art of turf management. You will develop landscape, mechanical, and business skills as well. The core of the learning experience is the placement training where you will receive on-the-job training with pay. A certificate is granted at the completion of the program requirements.

An additional strategy allows you to attend class only two or three days a week. This route, however, usually takes longer to complete. With your program coordinator's assistance, you may strategically schedule your courses and still allow the flexibility needed by those working full-time, as well as those who commute.

In addition, selected courses that satisfy the graduation requirement may be fulfilled through MSUšs off-campus offerings, or through other accredited institutions. All previously completed college courses will be considered for transfer credit. Graduation requires a total of 54 semester credits.
