| Pork Quality Assurance |
Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) for youth is a voluntary educational program that the National Pork Producers Council started in 1989.
The purpose of PQA is to educate producers to reduce or eliminate volatile drug residues and increase and improve food safety. The result provides a safe, wholesome food product for consumers. PQA training also helps meet the demand from a growing number of pork harvest facilities that are requiring that they receive hogs from PQA-certified producers. Additionally, PQA helps young people to improve their swine care and management practices.
