Marginal Lands

To avoid competition with current farmland, marginal lands are being evaluated for their potential to grow bioenergy crops.  Marginal lands are usually less productive and have some limitation(s) including droughtiness, salinity, wet, highly erodible, low fertility or other limitations.  The video below talks about a research project where three different types of marginal lands were evaluated for productivity of bioenergy crops.
