Honorary Alumnus Award
Frank "Bob" Perrin
Frank "Bob" Perrin has dedicated his life to advancing conservation and environmental stewardship. His leadership in Trout Unlimited led to a resurgence of fund-raising efforts to hire the first permanent state director. In 2003, the Lansing chapter of Trout Unlimited officially changed its name to the Frank "Bob" Perrin Chapter. As a member of the local Andy Ammann Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society, Bob helped initiate an undergraduate scholarship for deserving fisheries and wildlife students at MSU. He also works as director of the Estes Palmer Foundation and the Hal and Jean Glassen Foundation to promote youth understanding and appreciation of Michigan's natural heritage. Through Bob's efforts, many projects have received significant support from the foundations, including white cedar plantings along the AuSable River, shooting range enhancements at Rose Lake Wildlife Research Area, the Capital Area Humane Society's expansion, and the establishment of additional scholarship funds in the CANR Department of Fisheries and Wildlife and in the College of Veterinary Medicine at MSU.
