Message From the Dean
Dear Friend,
The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, together with the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station and MSU Extension, has served the needs of the people of Michigan for nearly 150 years. This college has a rich history of innovation and engagement that is reflected in the reputation MSU enjoys among peer institutions and industry, and serves as a solid foundation for the dynamic future before us today.
A strong component of our past success has been the support of our constituents. On behalf of the CANR, I thank you for this wonderful support. Working in partnership, we will continue to lead the way in learning, discovery and engagement that ensure the future of agriculture and natural resources in Michigan and the world.
Today, we are on the threshold of a new century, standing in an unprecedented position to influence the direction of this institution and all of the lives it touches for generations to come. Now, more than ever, we must invest in the intellectual capital that will power our future.
The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources seeks to raise $180 million as part of the Campaign for MSU.
This private support will enable the college to:
- Attract promising students, improve access to programs and enhance the diversity of the CANR.
- Recruit, retain and develop preeminent scholars and emerging academic leaders who will add to our programs of excellence.
- Strengthen the CANR's efforts to address the cross-disciplinary ethical, social and political issues affecting agriculture and natural resources in Michigan and throughout the world by looking beyond the narrowly focused questions confined to single departments, investigations, disciplines or even colleges.
- Invest in initiatives that forward the strategic priorities of the CANR.
Private giving supports and strengthens the CANR's outstanding teaching, research and outreach programs. Please review the Funding Priorities listed on this website to discover those that most closely meet your philanthropic goals.
