Celebrating 100 Years of Animal Science at
Ag Expo 2006!

The Department of Animal Science celebrated its rich 100 year history of animal research, education, and extension at Michigan State University at Ag Expo 2006, July 18-20. Ag Expo is a venue for commercial and education exhibitors to exhibit and demonstrate the latest in equipment, technology, and other innovations affecting change for agriculture and natural resources. Located on the MSU campus, thousands of people attending the 3 day event were treated to a display of the Department's history, a DVD of short stories by people important to the development of the Animal Science Department, a view of one of the world's largest bovine hairballs; measuring 27 inches, and weighing 4 pounds, 12 ounces, informational handouts, and personal contact with the faculty of the Department. The highlight for the Department was Wednesday when the 100th anniversary was given special attention with a short program in the stage area and cake was distributed to the crowd.
