An internship experience can prove to be one of the most beneficial and rewarding ventures of your academic career. In order to take full advantage of the situation, there are a few requirements and guidelines that are to be followed to ensure a successful and rewarding internship experience.

Students earn three credits for an internship. An internship must be a minimum of 10 weeks or 480 hours. A weekly account of experiences must be recorded in a log and turned in at the completion of the internship. Additionally, a 20 slide power point presentation must be turned in on disk. The presentation should include pictures of day to day activities, living facilities, etc. Commentary on intern expectations and general accounts of internship experiences are expected. Lastly, a final report (minimum 5 pages) must be completed to obtain full credit for the internship.

Academic Responsibilities

A grade of pass or fail will be assigned based upon satisfactory completion of the following assignments:

  1. Have resume on file with coordinator.
  2. Sign up for ANR 493
  3. Construct a 20 slide minimum power point presentation including facilities, responsibilities and projects.
  4. Create a final report turned in upon completion of internship.
  5. Turn in final employer evaluation.

Responsibilities to Employer

  1. Conform to the normal work hours of the establishment including over time when requested.
  2. Dress appropriately at all times.
  3. Support the employer, keep work confidential and work for their best interests.
  4. Request permission from both the employer and coordinator for leave periods.
  5. Submit reports promptly if required by coordinator.
