Ernest L. Anthony Hall is home to the Department of Animal Science at Michigan State University. The buildings namesake, Ernest Lee Anthony, was Head of the Dairy Department from 1928-1937 and Dean of the College of Agriculture from 1933-1953. Anthony Hall was first opened in 1956 and was completely renovated and reopened in 1997 as part of the Revitalization of Animal Agriculture in Michigan Initiative. Completely modernized, the 141,000 sq ft complex contains state-of-the-art research laboratories, meat science laboratory, dairy processing plant, teaching wet laboratories, technology equipped auditorium classrooms and an instructional microcomputer laboratory.
