Excellent teaching and research facilities are available in Anthony Hall and the adjacent Meat Science Laboratory. There are specialized laboratories for behavior and animal welfare, immunogenetics, molecular genetics, quantitative genetics, molecular reproductive endocrinology, molecular virology, meats and growth biology, protein metabolism, microbiology, forage analysis, toxicology, comparative nutrition, ruminant metabolism and reproductive physiology.

The MSU Pavilion for Agriculture and Livestock Education (PALE) is a 100,000 plus sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility containing an exhibit hall, livestock arena, auditorium and class rooms. It is utilized for hands-on teaching, juding and evaluation, and other livestock activities. Teaching and research farm facilities for dairy cattle, beef, swine, sheep, poultry, horses and mink are conveniently located within three miles of central campus.

Other off-campus livestock facilities include the Kellogg Biological Station Dairy Center, Lake City Beef Cattle Forage Facility and, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the Chatham Dairy and Beef Experiment Station.
