Developing and leading an integrated undergraduate dairy management program through teaching and advising of students in dairy; developing and coordinating the Dairy Associates Program; teaching the introductory and advanced dairy management courses. Serves as Secretary of the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation Board. Focuses on studies of mechanisms regulating early mammary development future lactation potential in dairy heifers. Emphasis is on the role of growth factors produced in the developing mammary gland.
