Michigan State University Extension has been involved in helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses for many years. The CEC program was created in Michigan approximately 8 years ago and was launched in an effort to educate communities on the various tools and resources available to help them help entrepreneurs grow in their communities.

This state-wide conference moves around each year.  Always held in October, the 2015 conference will be going border to border in Houghton/Hancock on Oct. 7-8 and Sturgis on Oct. 21-22, Michigan. Previous conferences have been held in Lansing, Petoskey, Marshall and East Tawas.

The target audience is representatives from various community organizations (business, education, government, chamber, service, economic developers, etc.) that all have an interest in learning how to make their community more conducive to entrepreneurial growth.

Registration fee:

$85 per person, includes opening and closing lunches, Wednesday evening networking and dinner plus all conference materials.

MCPs will earn six credits for attending entire conference.
