Presented by the MSU Small Ruminant Extension Team
Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, 1-4 pm
Location: Ehrhardt Sheep Farm, 6280 Kinneville Road, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827

This program will focus on forage systems for sheep and goat production with a particular emphasis on cover crop grazing opportunities and pasture renovation/rotation programs.   Participants will visit a cover crop grazing plot and be able to view pastures recently established with either no-till and conventional tillage methods.  Farm forage production and feeding systems will also be discussed, and the feeding program for a 180-ewe accelerated production unit will be reviewed, complete with feeding demonstrations.  Sheep and goat producers, both experienced and inexperienced and with large or small flocks/herds, should all find interest in this program.

Registration: free
This program will be held outdoors so dress appropriately.  Transportation to nearby field sites will be available from the meeting site at 6280 Kinneville Road, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827.  Refreshments will be provided at the meeting site.  Please contact Richard Ehrhardt (ehrhard5@msu.edu, 517-899-0040), Erin Recktenwald (ebr@msu.edu, 517-432-6164) or Mike Metzger (metzgerm@msu.edu, 517-788-4292) with any questions.
