This year's Heritage Conference will focus on Making Places from historic sites, meeting first in the town's historic Lyon Theater where keynote speaker Mark Wyckoff will dial in on the strategies of quality placemaking. Heritage Conference participants will also visit the 185-year-old New Hudson Inn in New Hudson, the recently-restored War Dog Memorial, South Lyon's historic First Presbyterian Church and, of course, a walk around the town. Lunch will be a lesson and served on the street via a food truck rally, followed by how-to's on making one happen in your town. More information is available online by checking on the Conference Flyer.
Mark Wyckoff, the Director of Planning and Zoning Center at Michigan State University and Senior Associate Director for Land Policy Institute, will be the keynote speaker for this event. Wyckoff is an award-winning planner with 40+ years in urban planning, placemaking and land policy reform.
