The theme of the 2017 symposium is “Enhancing Buffalo Production for Food and Economy”. The objective of the symposium is sharing knowledge among national and international scientists working on buffalo production.
Chair of the Department of Animal Science at Michigan State University, Dr. Janice Swanson, will be a keynote speaker on policies and socio economics of buffalo production. Additional speakers from MSU include Dr. Daniel Grooms, Chair, Large Animal Clinical Science, and Dr. Won O. Song, Director, Food and Nutrient Database Research Center, Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.

The symposium is organized by Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) and co-organized by Michigan State University (MSU), Department of Livestock Services (Ministry of Livestock Development, Government of Nepal) and Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC).
