Little International Stock Show

The annual Little International stock show hosted by the Block & Bridle club gives every MSU student the chance to work with and competitively exhibit livestock. Participants may choose up to three species from beef, sheep, swine, dairy or horses to work with for a week before showing on Sunday, Sept. 23. 

Don’t have any experience showing? Every species has a novice as well as an advanced class. If you have less than two years’ experience showing a certain species, you may show in the novice division. There are also many other club members willing to help teach you about a new specie. Showmanship equipment is not provided so it is often beneficial to work with an experienced showman. 

Cost to participate is $10 for the first animal and $5 for every animal after that. Champion advanced showman in each specie will receive a personalized jacket and champion novice showman will receive a personalized duffel bag. Champion advanced showman will also be able to compete for the overall champion showman at the end of the day. 

The deadline to sign up will be Tuesday, September 11. There will be an exhibitors meeting after the regularly scheduled B&B meeting the night of Sept. 11 to go over all of the rules and expectations for the week. University animals from our farms will arrive and be available to the exhibitors starting Monday, September 17th. 

 Sign-up sheets will be available in the B&B club room, 1275 Anthony Hall.
