Michigan Farmers Market Conference
Date: March 10, 2015 - March 11, 2015
Location: Plant and Soil Sciences Building, 1066 Bogue Street, East Lansing, MI 48824
8:30 a.m. ‒ 4 p.m. each day
The growth and expansion of farmers markets is one of the most visible aspects of Michigan’s vibrant local and regional food renaissance. This rapid market growth has created a need for educational and advocacy programs that protect and grow these venues and highlight the benefits and importance of Michigan agriculture. Join the Michigan Farmers Market Association for the fourth annual Michigan Farmers Market Conference.
The conference will offer three tracks: 1) a market manager “boot camp” track designed to provide essential basic information for beginning market managers, 2) an advanced manager track for those who have attended previous training sessions and are looking for specialized information and 3) a farmer/vendor track, designed especially for small and mid-sized farmers and small businesses who direct market through farmers markets. If you are a manager looking to start a farmers market, a farmer who wants to learn how to optimize their sales at farmers markets or someone working to increase food access in Michigan through farmers markets, this conference will provide valuable information and networking. For more information about the conference including specific sessions in each track and details on how to register, please visit www.mifma.org.
