The Michigan State Rabbit Breeders Association (MSRBA) will host its 75th convention and spring show March 3-5. The theme for this year’s weekend is “Living Out our Dreams 2017.” The host hotel this year is the Holiday Inn Express in Okemos, 2209 University Park Dr. Okemos, MI.
This grand event will kick off on Friday afternoon with a judge’s conference that is open to everyone interested in attending. The conference begins at noon at the Michigan State University Livestock Pavilion. For more information, visit the new Michigan State Rabbit Breeders Association Rabbit School 2017 Facebook page.
The main event, the Convention Show, will be held on Saturday. The youth will be up first, showing in Show A while the open exhibitors hold their MSRBA general membership meeting that morning. The open exhibitors will show after the meeting along with some of the designated shows for Show B on Saturday. Show B is a split show with some of the breeds showing on Saturday and the rest on Sunday. When the Saturday show is complete, participants may attend the annual banquet, which is always a great time. The sweepstakes awards, prestigious Master Breeder award, and many other awards that honor members and their service to the MSRBA are presented at this event. It is also a big night for the youth, since they will be crowned for their royalty. If you have not been to the banquet in a while, consider coming back; it is a great time: great food, great events, and great participants. Tickets are limited, so you will want to get them early. The banquet will be hosted at the Okemos Conference Center, next door to the Holiday Inn Express, and attached to the Comfort Inn and Suites.
On Sunday, Show B and another all-breed show, Show C, conclude. With three shows and two competitions over two days, the Annual Rabbit Show makes for a great weekend. We hope you join us.
