RCR Orientation Training

Date: September 22, 2014 - September 24, 2014
Location: The Gordon Guyer Conference Room, 244 Natural Science

The RCR Orientation is REQUIRED for all graduate students and post-docs in the Entomology department (and technicians and undergrads, but only if they are involved in a sustained or significant manner). If you are a graduate student or a post-doc and have not yet attended an RCR Orientation session you must do so now. Note that RCR training is so important that all technicians and undergrads are urged to attend the training, even if they are not involved in sustained research.

Orientation Training
Monday, Sept.22, 10 a.m. - noon, The Gordon Guyer Conference Room, 244 Natural Science
Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1-3 p.m., The Gordon Guyer Conference Room, 244 Natural Science
Wednesday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. - noon, The Gordon Guyer Conference Room, 244 Natural Science

The Annual RCR Refresher Training is REQUIRED for graduate students and post-docs (and technicians and undergrads, if they are involved in a sustained or significant manner) to attend annually once they have already completed the RCR Orientation and are RCR compliant. The annual refresher is very important and is a requirement to stay RCR compliant. The MSU requirement is to offer Annual Refresher Training for a minimum of 4-h, two of which is a “… formal, department-wide discussion of RCR issues each Fall, with a review of basic information and Q&A.” The other 2-h is to be run by PIs with their own lab group. (This doesn’t have to be one, 2-h block, just has to be 2-h in total during the Fall.)

Annual Refresher Training
Tuesday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m. - noon, The Gordon Guyer Conference Room, 244 Natural Science
Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1-3 p.m., The Gordon Guyer Conference Room, 244 Natural Science

If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled orientation sessions this fall, you can also fulfill the orientation requirement by attending the RCR Orientation offered during the annual ESA Meeting in Portland Oregon (http://entsoc.org/)

Please RSVP your attendance to Heather Lenartson-Kluge at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for one of the above RCR sessions no later than THURSDAY, SEPT. 18. Please note that a session may be cancelled due to low attendance.
