The Michigan Association of Planning’s Planning & Zoning Essentials program will be held on Feb. 4, 2015, at the Oshtemo Township Hall in Kalamazoo. This program is ideal for new planning commissioners and zoning board of appeals members to their roles and responsibilities, and also for more experienced officials looking to refresh their skills and build upon existing knowledge. Roles and responsibilities, site plan review, comprehensive planning, zoning ordinances, variances, how to determine practical difficulty, and standards for decision-making are covered. Urban & Regional Planning students are encouraged to attend this program.

Choose from three options to fit your needs:

  2. Attend the Planning Commission Session (4 - 7:30 p.m.)
  3. Attend the Zoning Board of Appeals Session (6 - 9 p.m.)
