October 2004 Meeting Minutes

October 13th 2004

1. Dario: spoke about seminar and possible professors a) John Biernbaum- organic horticulture b)Bob Schutzki- sustainable landscape c)Ron Perry- organic fruits

2. Yufei and Grant: much PIZZA and SUBS today! J

Halloween Party- 10/29/04 at Horticulture Farm- show up from 8:30-9 pm

• Contact Grant or Yufei to help prepare for party
• Any suggestions for food- let them know

Broom Ball: Hopefully middle of November- will update later

COGS Bonfire: at AgExpo 6-10 pm: contact Grant for tickets

3. Chrislyn: faculty meeting

* encouraged to attend tailgate

* faculty voted to have no minimum on GRE

* all suggested to attend seminars- always chance questions during defense could arise from seminars

* HORT department development committee: created to help develop better links between department and alumni- TAILGATE

4. Jill- HORT CLUB: float for parade- line up at 5 pm Friday 10/15/04

Hayride at Andy T’s: will email with details

Formal Christmas Party???- will email with details

5. Presidents: new fundraiser for DEC: red color lily flowers- suggested donations of $8-10- will put fliers out to help market

* working on mentorship- if anyone background in landscape let Rolo or Erin know

* create T-shirt designs for next meeting- will vote on favorite one and that person will win a PRIZE!! J
