The Fruit and Vegetable Crop Management program provides students an opportunity to apply practical knowledge and training on the selection, use, and management of fruit and vegetable crops.
The Landscape Management program provides training for students to select, use, and manage landscape plants and lawns.
The Viticulture Certificate program provides students with a solid background in plant science along with specific expertise and skills needed for careers in the grape industry.

About our partnership
Michigan State University (MSU) and Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) have partnered to offer specialized training programs for careers in some of Michigan’s highest demand industries. Students will benefit from dual enrollment at both institutions with all courses delivered in Traverse City, Michigan, the home of NMC.
This partnership allows students to earn a certificate from the MSU Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) while working toward an associate’s degree from NMC. The partnership between the two institutions benefits those who seek employment in agriculture, landscaping, and the grape and wine industry.
The Michigan State University (MSU) Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) utilizes the expertise and resources of a major university to offer unique certificate programs in East Lansing, Michigan, and other locations in partnership with Michigan community colleges around the state.
Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) serves more than 50,000 learners annually throughout the Grand Traverse region and beyond. NMC offers associate’s degrees and professional certificates, and bachelor's degrees through the Great Lakes Maritime Academy. Eight partner universities grant baccalaureate, graduate and doctoral degrees through its University Center. NMC's extensive Extended Education program offers a wide array of non-credit classes to more than 10,000 local residents annually.
