The Department of Horticulture in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is seeking an tenure-track assistant professor position to provide teaching, research and Extension/outreach activities in the area of sustainable vegetable crop production. Expertise in production agriculture and the ability to apply system-based solutions to complex problems in sustainable vegetable crop production are imperative. Emphasis areas may include adaptation of cropping systems to a changing climate, improving the sustainable use of water in crop production, reducing postharvest loss and improving postharvest quality, technological improvements to pest management and improving the profitability of vegetable production and processing. A special emphasis will involve leadership in producing and communicating research and extension information focusing on water management and water quality in Wisconsin vegetable production. Candidates with demonstrated experience in vegetable crop physiology, agricultural water management, and hydrology are encouraged to apply.
