Proud Equestrian Program

The Proud Equestrian Program (PEP) is a collaborative effort between Mecosta County 4-H and Osceola County 4-H.  It is a therapeutic riding program for youth with disabilities.  Adults and teen volunteers assist the riders under the supervision and direction of a certified instructor.  Riding sessions are held in the spring and in the fall for six (6) weeks each.  Three volunteers are needed for each rider, two (2) serve as side walkers - walking on each side of the rider to ensure they stay center and secure in the saddle, and one (1) to lead the horse.

For more information on how you can become part of this great program as a volunteer, contact the Mecosta County MSU Extension Office at 231-592-0792.
