Marketplace Trade Show - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is included in my registration as a vendor? Each booth consists of a 10’ x 10’ space with an 8’ high draping back (black), 3’ sides (black), and 8’ skirted (white) table and chair.

Q: What if I need electric? If you require electrical access for your booth space please contact the Lansing Center directly to arrange for this by clicking here to fill out their utility form.  

Q: Can I select my own booth number?  Yes. When registering with full payment, you will be able to select your top three choices of available booths at that time. We will assign the booths in the order registrations are received and confirmed with payment. If all three of your choices are previously assigned before the floor plan of available booths has been updated on the registration site, you will be contacted directly by a staff member of the Product Center to find an available booth.

Q: When will booth numbers be assigned? You will be sent a booth assignment confirmation email within 3-5 business days of a paid vendor booth registration.

Q: Is parking included? No, parking is at your own expense. 

Q: Is sampling allowed? Yes, sampling is allowed and encouraged. 

Q: How much is registration for vendors? Registration fee is $199.00.

Q: Are meals provided for vendors? No lunch is included in your registration. For your convenience, concessions will be open from 8:00 am through 12:00 pm.

Q: How many people will be expected to walk through the show? We would anticipate between 300-400 people to walk throughout the course of the day.The show management targets retail buyers including supermarkets, independent grocery stores, specialty food markets, food co-ops, restaurants and chefs. Conference participants and the general public also attend the trade show.

Q: How many products should we donate? No more than 2-3 products are necessary.

Q: How many samples should I bring for public? To plan accordingly, anticipate between 300-400 people to walk through and enjoy sampling during the day although not everyone will sample products at each booth.

Q: Should I bring product to sell? Products can be sold during the trade show, however the primary focus is generally not buying, but sampling and networking with fellow entrepreneurs, speaking with buyers, as well as the general public.

Q: Where’s the trade show taking place & address? The Making It In Michigan Conference and Marketplace Trade Show all take place at the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48933
