Together we work to enhance the sovereignty, cultural continuity and wellbeing of tribes, Indian communities and Indian people.

Welcome to the Native American Institute home page.  We are in the process of transitioning to a new system.  We will be working to post events (at MSU and around the state of Michigan) that are relevant to tribes and Native organizations, grant opportunities for MSU and American Indian communities, links to useful information for tribes from local to international levels, and current news from around Indian Country.

NAI is a unit at Michigan State University that is one of many that work towards supporting the efforts of Indigenous people in the Americas and we support our colleagues in American Indian and Indigenous Studies, the Indigenous Law and Policy Center, and EAGLE.

We further support our student organizations that include NAISO, AISES, NABI, IYEP and SACNAS
