2016 Hands-on hop scouting workshops

Come learn about best scouting practices in the field at four free hop scouting workshops.

Scouting for hop pests is critical to environmental and economic sustainability. Michigan State University Extension will be hosting four free hop scouting demonstrations for current hop growers. These Hands-on Hop IPM Workshops will include a review of the major hop pests as well as how to scout for and identify them. We will also discuss nutrient management strategies.

Growers are encouraged to bring unknown plant and insect samples for diagnosis. Please place samples in sealed bags as a courtesy to our host farms. These meetings will be held outside rain or shine, so dress accordingly and plan for inclement weather. Registration is required, but the program is free. Register online at Hands-on Hop IPM Workshops. Restricted use pesticides credits will be available.
