2018 MSU Extension cow-calf management seminars

Learn about cow-calf management.

The Michigan State University Extension Beef Team will be hosting a series of seminars related to cow-calf management. The seminars will be held in Escanaba on March 5, Gaylord on March 6, Ionia on March 12 and Harrison on March 13.

Each seminar will cover an Update on Bovine TB. A session on selection strategy that focus on “optimal” and avoiding the temptation of chasing extremes. A Cow-Calf Health Risk Assessment that will cover strategies to develop a herd health management calendar: by utilizing own farm risk assessment, implementing management practices to ensure good health while minimizing production cost and by using judicious use of antibiotics and chemical products to minimize organism resistance.
