2023 Young Vets Camp Day 4
Roy and Jack, the Wonder Dog
Farmer Roy brought his cute dog, Jack and showed us his tricks! Jack was so good at fetch even retrieved his toy from the pond. The campers loved it.
Camouflage!
Campers went to the children’s garden and had a list of stuff that was hidden around the garden. They learned what animals camouflage to protect themselves from predators.
Animal Hike
Our baby goats got some exercise today and went on a fun walk down to the forest then back. Everyone loves spending time with our baby goats.
Garden Kitchen: cheesy buttermilk biscuits & cucumber salad
Our beloved buttermilk biscuits are back this week!! This time cheese was added to the biscuits, and they absolutely loved them. The cooking process made them impatient, but it was worth it once they were done. This next recipe had mixed opinions, cucumber salad. Many of them were brave and still tried it!
Toxins and your animal
Sometimes our animals can get sick and have toxins in their system. Each EDU Leader demonstrated with Coke and Mentos to show how toxins are in an animal’s body if they have a little or a lot.
Basic in Biosecurity
Every animal and human get sick at some point. The illness could even come from a human then cause the animal to get sick. This activity is to show campers how to prevent illnesses from spreading and keep our animals healthy.
STEAM Five Freedoms
Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) project is ending. Tomorrow, they are going to sell their creation to each other in their pepper groups and they get to create a commercial! Campers are getting creative with their commercials.
