This Saturday, June 2, the Bug House participated in Greater Lansing's Be A Tourist In Your Own Town. We were open to the public all day and hosted a grand total of 771 visitors!

Be A Tourist In Your Own Town is a yearly event designed to encourage residents to explore what the area has to offer. Over 80 local attractions participated in the event this year. At the Bug House, visitors had a chance to view our amazing indoor beehive, as well as our collection of live and preserved insects, spiders, scorpions, centipedes, millipedes, and crustaceans. Our Bug House guides were busy helping visitors to handle and interact with live beetles, cockroaches, and tarantulas! A big thank-you goes out to our guides who helped on Saturday:  Alison, Zoe, Margie, Colin, Gabriela, Lidia, Gary, and Amanda.

Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make this event a success. Looking forward to next year!
