Construction Management Program Celebrates 75 Years

The School of Planning, Design and Construction celebrated 75 years of its Construction Management program on Friday, September 29, 2023 with an Anniversary Gala.

Michigan State University’s School of Planning, Design and Construction (SPDC), in conjunction with the Construction Management Alumni and Industry Advisory Board (CMAIAB), hosted an Anniversary Gala on Friday, September 29, 2023 to celebrate the Construction Management Program’s 75th anniversary. Established in 1948, the mission of the program is to inspire and educate future leaders and engaged citizens who will innovate the built environment industry.

Attendance was open to construction management alumni from across the decades and included a captivating walk through 75 years of construction management history, a three-course dinner, an anniversary gift, a fundraising raffle and a visit from Sparty. Ticket sales and event sponsorships raised funds for the program including support for student competition teams.

The competition process provides students with invaluable practical experience by working together in disciplinary and interdisciplinary project teams to deliver solutions to real-life problems they would likely face in the industry as professionals.
