U.S. Paralympics is committed to working with community organizations across the United States. The U.S. Paralympic Sport Club program is designed to be implemented within the Demmer Center's menu of programs.
The objectives of the Demmer Center Paralympic Sport Club program include:
=>Developing a community-based sport club that recruits and involves diverse youth and adults with physical and visual disabilities in sports and physical activities regardless of skill level or interest.
=>Developing a comprehensive, community-based Paralympic Sport Club network as a foundation for a Paralympic athlete pipeline.
=>Providing community-based sport program opportunities for injured service members and veterans to continue sport participation upon their integration back into their home communities.
=> Creating a community-based Paralympic Sport Club network that provides a "grassroots" campaign to educate individuals on the opportunities and benefits inherent in sport and physical activities for diverse people with physical and visual disabilities.
