Get out and fish this weekend!

The summer free fishing weekend in Michigan is June 8-9 with lots of fun fishing events to choose from including The Rivertown Detroit Kids Fishing Fest at Milliken State Park from 8am-noon.

Join Michigan Sea Grant and other Michigan State University Extension programs and partners at Milliken State Park in downtown Detroit for a day of family fishing, games, educational tables and more. Visit the Michigan Sea Grant booth for free bobbers and boat floats and see invasive species like Round Gobies, Zebra Mussels and Sea Lamprey. A limited number of fishing poles will also be available for loan during the day. The event is part of Michigan’s Summer Free Fishing Weekend when all fishing license fees are waived for two days.
