Hoophouses for Health Program Seeks Outreach Specialist

Applications will be accepted until Monday, May 12, for a part-time position to conduct outreach activities and technical assistance with farmers in the Hoophouses for Health program.

The MSU Department of Horticulture is seeking a part-time outreach specialist to support outreach activities related to the Hoophouses for Health program, a project of the Michigan Farmers Market Association, the MSU Student Organic Farm and CRFS.  Hoophouses for Health works to build the capacity of low-income families to access and utilize more fruits and vegetables while building the capacity of the agricultural community to meet the demand for fresh produce year-round.

The outreach specialist will provide assistance within the Hoophouses for Health Production Team to continue outreach activities and technical assistance with farmers enrolled in this program. Responsibilities include technical assistance focused on season extension for year-round vegetable production and harvesting related to Hoophouse for Health programming with farmers throughout Michigan.
