Next week, U.S. 23's economic potential will be in the spotlight as four students from Michigan State University's Urban & Regional Planning [Program] present their findings at a public meeting.

When local residents raised $37–thousand last summer for a U.S. 23 South revitalization study, two different departments at MSU were enlisted to take two different looks at Alpena's southern gateway.

This presentation will include current conditions in the community, practical assessments, suggestions for sound, action strategies for neighborhood revitalization, and recommendations on land use.

South Bay, formerly known as Taking Pride in Alpena, will be hosting this event next week, May 4 at 1 pm in the Gallery Space at the Alpena Mall.

Clark says this meeting should be of special interest to all area residents, entrepreneurs, business owners, developers, and government officials.
