MSU Entomology Bug House breaks record for highest attendance ever for open house

The Department of Entomology's Bug House had 1,486 visitors during this year's Be a Tourist in Your Own Town, the highest attendance ever for a one-day event at the Bug House!

The Department of Entomology’s Bug House participated in the Be a Tourist in Your Own Town on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Despite the lousy weather and many high school graduation events going on that weekend, the Bug House had 1,486 visitors between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. – the highest attendance ever for a one-day event. Over 700 coloring pages were used up by the kids attending.

A big thanks to those dedicated students and staff who helped out for this event, including Gary Parsons, Courtney Weatherbee, Nicole Quinn, Amanda Lorenz, Ian Paulsen and Jason Gibbs. Our live critters and the guides appeared to all be doing well after the event despite getting no breaks during the busy day.

Keep an eye out for upcoming Bug House open houses.
