Responsibilities  
The Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State University seeks to hire an Assistant Professor with demonstrated potential to be an outstanding researcher and teacher in the area of the economics and management of the food system.  The successful candidate will develop an internationally recognized program with integrated research and teaching activities that address issues central to today’s global food industry.  Areas of emphasis may include: value chain coordination and industrial organization, marketing analytics and strategy, retail management, and behavioral economics.  Successful applicants will be expected to publish in leading peer-reviewed journals, develop and strengthen the department’s programs in food industry management, generate external funding, and engage with the food industry stakeholders.
   
Qualifications  
Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Agricultural or Applied Economics, Business Administration, Marketing or a closely related discipline. Evidence of potential excellence in teaching, research, outreach, and communication is required.  Previous teaching and/or food industry experience as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and to engage with key stakeholders is desirable.
