On Wednesday, Nov. 19, the MSU School of Planning, Design and Construction (SPDC) is hosting the third event in their Industry Seminar Series in Room 300 of the Human Ecology Building on the campus of MSU in East Lansing. Joseph Maguire, President and CEO of Wolverine Development Corporation, and President and Co-Founder of the Society of Environmentally Responsible Facilities (SERF), is serving as the facilitator of the Series.

The featured speakers will be Robert and Karen Schroeder, Co-Owners and President and Vice President, respectively, of Mayberry Homes. The Schroeders will present on Homebuilding in Michigan: Surviving the Cycles. Founded in 2002, Mayberry Homes is an industry leader in providing homes offering a unique blend of old-world values and cutting-edge technology. Bob and Karen Schroeder, both Michigan Construction Hall of Fame inductees, supervise the company’s offices in East Lansing, Midland and Traverse City. Being recognized as the top ranked North American builder in Customer Service is but one of their many awards. In 2008, Mayberry Homes was selected as the official builder for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

The SPDC Industry Seminar Series consists of lectures and presentations by invited speakers who are industry leaders in the Built Environment profession. In November 2013, the SPDC hosted its inaugural speaker Ron Boji, President of the Boji Group; and in March 2014, it hosted Jay Smith, Executive Vice President of Construction Operations and Corporate Safety Officer at The Christman Company.

This event is free and open to the public. The lecture will take place from 4:30pm-5:15pm in Room 300 in the MSU Human Ecology Building at MSU in East Lansing. A reception sponsored by Mayberry Homes will follow the lecture from 5:15pm-6pm.
