In just 5 weeks, the third Michigan Good Food Summit will be returning to Lansing! The evening before the main Summit sessions, on Monday, October 27th, a special showing of the 2014 film, Cesar Chavez, will be presented, along with a networking reception.

The film tells the story of the famed civil rights leader and labor organizer, Cesar Chavez, and chronicles the birth of a modern American movement. “Chavez inspired millions of Americans from all walks of life who never worked on a farm to fight for social justice. His triumphant journey is a remarkable testament to the power of one individual's ability to change the world,” states Pantelion Films.

The theme of social justice in the food system will be picked up in a special lunch keynote at the October 28th Summit.

Cesar Chavez is directed by Diego Luna of the 2002 Oscar-winning film Frida, and stars Michael Peña, America Ferrera, Rosario Dawson and John Malkovich.

Everyone is invited at 4:00 p.m. to join friends and colleagues to enjoy great food and beverages from Michigan farmers and producers and then view the film at 5:00 p.m. It’s an evening you don’t want to miss!
