EmailThe Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable, and Farm Market EXPO and the Michigan Greenhouse Growers EXPO will be held from 9-11 December, 2014 at Devos Place Conference Center and the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, Grand Rapids Michigan.
The Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable, and Farm Market EXPO and the Michigan Greenhouse Growers EXPO will be held from 9-11 December, 2014 at Devos Place Conference Center and the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, Grand Rapids Michigan.
This large Michigan Expo will kick off with a pre-conference Farm Market Bus Tour on Monday, December 8. The bus tour will visit six area farm markets. Last year’s tour filled four buses and attracted farm marketers from 19 states and five Canadian provinces!
The Expo’s trade show will open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9. There will be 425+ exhibitors in attendance.
The Expo’s education sessions start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9 and will span over three days, concluding on Thursday December 11. The program includes sessions on fruit crops, vegetable crops, other specialty crops (chestnuts and hops), greenhouse crop production and marketing, farm marketing ideas and operations, farmers markets and organic production and marketing. There will also be sessions covering a number of general interest topics, including: food safety, hoop houses and tunnels, farm labor and the Affordable Care Act. Presentations at the Expo will be given by researchers and extension educators from Michigan State University and other Land Grant universities and research stations.
Online registration is closed but early registration will be open on Monday, December 8 from 4-6pm. “Day-of” registration is available from 7:30am each day at the EXPO.
