Your MSU Account vs. Your ANR Account

As an MSU and CANR/MSUE employee, you will receive two different accounts. MSU provides you with an account name called a NetID. ANR uses this NetID to create an ANR account for you.

MSU provides you with an account name called a NetID. This provides you with an email address of netid@msu.edu and allows you to access many MSU services including:

  • Email and Calendar Services (Office 365)
  • EBS
  • Google Drive
  • VPN

ANR uses this NetID to create an ANR account for you. This allows you to access ANR services including:

  • SharePoint (Sharing and Collaboration)
  • Departmental Shared Printers
  • Departmental Shared Network Storage (S:Drive) and Personal Network Storage (U: Drive)

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
It is highly recommended that you save all CANR/MSUE related work to either the shared S:Drive or the personal U:Drive as these drives are regularly backed up. Any data saved on an individual computer's C:Drive ("My Documents", "My Computer", etc.) is not backed up and may be lost/unrecoverable in the event of a computer failure.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the ANR Service Desk at (517) 355-3776 or support@anr.msu.edu.
