Research shows that children who receive affection and nurture from their caregivers have the best opportunity for healthy development. Based on Stephen Bavolek’s evidence-based Nurturing Parenting, this program is for parents, grandparents, childcare providers and others who care for children, ranging from birth to teens. Participants will learn what nurturing is and how to be a nurturing parent, enhance positive relationships with children, how to discipline without spanking, methods to handle stress and anger, child growth and development, understanding the brain development of children and teens and how to help build self-esteem. Nurturing Families increases skills that promote positive family relationships. It can be offered as a series, or one-time workshops on specific topics.
