Ask an Expert Training
This short training on Ask an Expert will get you started as an Expert in the system! Participants will update their profile, add tags related to their expertise, and learn the process for answering questions. Suggested guidelines will also be discussed. Summer 2017 dates include:
- June 21 from 3:00pm-3:30pm: REGISTER
- July 11 from 10:30am-11:00am: REGISTER
- August 16 from 11:30-Noon: REGISTER
How to Help Clients with Questions
Description: The purpose of this training session is to provide MSU Extension personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to help clients find information, answers to their questions, or Michigan experts they can talk to. Participants will learn how to:
- find Michigan experts on various topics
- search for an answer or ask a question in eXtension’s Ask an Expert system
- direct clients to two other eXtension searchable sites
- use eXtension's Learn system for professional development
The session will be participatory and hands-on. Each participant will have the opportunity to search for information or people and report out. Useful handouts will also be shared. This is a free training.
- July 13, 11:00 am – Noon: REGISTER
Description: In this training session participants will learn how to use the features of Zoom Webinar (the replacement of Adobe Connect). The class requires completion of a pre-session homework assignment which will be emailed to you prior to the online meeting time. The assignment will take approximately one hour to complete and requires a computer microphone. This is a free training.
Thursday Ed Tech Talks
Description: On the second and fourth Thursday of the month from Noon to 1:00 pm from September through May there will be an online discussion/demonstration through Zoom Meeting of an educational technology tool for program implementation. The first part of the discussion will include a demonstration of the tool followed by questions, hands-on activities, and discussion. These are free trainings.
The Thursday Ed Tech Talks will resume in September of 2017.
