Michigan State University Extension is working to create a positive organizational culture that supports successful contracts and grants activity. In addition to diversifying the MSU Extension funding base, changing the culture around grants and research includes helping staff increase their knowledge of grants management and providing resources that improve success in pursuing competitive grants.
As MSU Extension increases involvement in funded projects there is a need for internal capacity building of research and grant administration tools and resources. The major goal is to train Extension staff in grant writing skills and how to use the new MSU grants administrative system, called Kuali Coeus (“KC”). The KC System enables researchers to create funding proposals, route proposals for approval, and electronically submit proposals to funders. In this section of the OD website you will find resources and training materials to assist you through the grant process.
