Community Engagement in Rural Ireland

Accomodations

Students live in modern homes with Irish families who reside in the village or rural area where the community engagement project takes place. Students eat breakfast and dinner with host families, who also make packed lunches and provide laundry service, as part of the room and board fees.

Past students say that experiencing Irish culture by living with a host family is one of the best parts of the study abroad program.

Our Irish faculty member—Sr. Maureen Lally—selects families and arranges home stays, accommodating students’ request whenever possible. If you have special housing needs (i.e., pet allergies) or preferences (i.e., house with small children, family farm), please be sure to communicate those on the Interest Profile form and to mention them during the interview with the project coordinators.
