Center for Regional Food Systems
Farmer Field School Program Manager
Tom came to farming and farmer education as an outgrowth of his lifelong concern for sustainable ecosystems, unique local food culture, and viable local economies - something that his current work with the Farmer Field School brings together. His path to this point began in chemistry but evolved to more applied work in citizen education around lake and stream monitoring and restoration, branched off into local food systems, then he farmed in various ways for about 9 years, and now is a part time farmer, educator, husband and father – a balance he very much enjoys.
