Faculty advisor: Dr. Rita Strakovsky
Diana graduated from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology, a minor in Chemistry, and a certificate in Neuroscience. Her research combines human nutrition with toxicology and epidemiology. Using data collected from the Illinois Kids Development Study (I-KIDS), her research focuses on the effects of various prenatal exposures (i.e. endocrine disrupting chemicals, maternal obesity/adiposity) on steroid hormones (estrogen and testosterone) important for pregnancy and fetal development. The long-term goal of this research is to investigate how these prenatal exposures affect development in infants and children.
