Sandra is with the College of Human Medicine, Division of Public Health as the Division’s Director of Communications and Marketing. She completed her MPH degree through the College of Human Medicine with coursework focused on health communications, food safety & counterfeit ingestible projects (pharmaceuticals, food). Her main interest is in outreach & engagement of residents to help them make informed health decisions. Specific areas of interest include: Health literacy among adult domestic & immigrant populations; Cross-cultural competencies in developing health communicaions to diverse populations; Accessibility to health care, food, water, housing & the factors that influence accessibility; Communication/persuasion theories influencing audience responses to health education campaigns; Social media usage in communicating health-related concepts.
