Gayle is a PhD candidate in Human Nutrition. Her research focuses on understanding Breastfeeding Self- Efficacy and Perceived Social Support specifically how it influences breastfeeding outcomes with low-income African American women. She is also a recipient of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Health Policy Research Scholars program. Gayle graduated from MSU with a BS in Nutritional Sciences, then completed her MS in Nutritional Science at Wayne State University (WSU) in 2012. Concurrent with her studies, she completed the Certificate in Public Health Practice at WSU in 2015. Gayle then worked as a Nutrition Educator and became a Certified Lactation Specialist with the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. Gayle's prior positions include nutrition instructor with Oakland Community College and State Breastfeeding Coordinator with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
