Professor Emeritus, C. Raymond Hoglund, was born in McPherson, Kansas, 1906.  He was Associate Professor, South Dakota State College, 1943-48; Cooperative Agent, University of Wisconsin, and Soil Conservation Service, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, 1941-43;  Field Representative, Metropolitan Life Ins. Co., Minn., 1935-40.  He joined MSU/AEC in 1948 with research focus particularly in the economics of dairy farming, forage production, storage and utilization.  Other fields of interest: dairy farm management, dairy adjustments and forage economics.

Honors: American Grassland Council Merit Award 1963, AAAS Fellow Award 1964, National Silo Assn. Z. W. Craine Award, 1965.
